A seaside project on the Magdalen Islands, this small cottage draws its charm from the playful yet vernacular materials, colors and shapes that make up its exterior. With its panoramic sea views, the abundant use of windows was a priority in the design of this project, to take advantage of natural light from dawn to dusk. In addition, the openness of the windows blurs the physical boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing the fresh saltwater breeze to settle evenly into the spaces.
